F40 - Le Mans Guida?

Have seen an F40 advertised for sale as a "Le mans Guida". Was that any different from a standard F40?

Having decided to wait until next year before seriously looking to buy an F40 (and after agreeing to buy a CS, which I hope to actually purchase next week now that the seller has agreed a price reduction that covers new brake discs) I have now found today, two F40s for sale in Switzerland.

Original plan was to buy the CS, see how use I get out of it (as similar I concept to F40) and see how it copes with Swiss country lanes (where i do most of my driving). Also to give my wife time to get used to the idea of spending so much on the F40. Despite the sensible plan I am still tempted....

There are a couple of F40 racing versions of which the F40 LM is one. If it is a real F40 LM price will be north of $1 mil.

I don't think it can be a proper racing version as registered for use on Swiss roads. From pictures it looks like "standard" F40 (not that any F40 is standard!) except for Perspex side-windows, which I thought only came as standard on the first 50 F40s.

A few owners of road F40s have added "LM" parts. A proper F40 LM would definitely not be road legal or road usable. The first speed bump or pothole would be the end of its excursion.

I know this car, it has nothing to do with a LM. It's just a perspex side window version of the street F40.

A good F40 is incredible. Truly lives up to its reputation.
