What do you need to know?

I will try to start a thread for a F50 Buyers Guide along the same lines as the F40 one.

Not very well , since Nigel seems to be busy. I have called him and email him but he tells me to wait for his answer.

Per my experience, it wil take 6-12 months to find the right F50. I know he is looking.

Not well because I am finally moving to San Diego, CA. But I am looking at an F40 that is being action in a few days in Arizona. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a rather major change of plans.

On the F40, do you know the history of the car?

Likely to be lot 258 on the RM Auction?

Not sure if this link will work: RM Auctions

300 miles from new, first owner Lee Iacocca. Still unregistered, after 25 years!!!!! Obviously, you will pay through the nose on this car, which is a good investment ONLY (IMHO) if you are not going to drive it. A great car, but if you want to use it, it will lose value and you will need to spend money on the replacement of hoses etc..

Lot 263 is interesting to me - what a LOT of money for a Lusso they are expecting. The Targa Florio history is very attractive, though. It will be interesting to see what comes out of that.

Jazzio, I want the car for driving! But any F40 you buy will lose price with time and miles on it. I understand that given the low mileage that will make even more of a difference but at least I thing that person will have the pleasure of driving those first 20 to 30 K on a great car. Repairs will come off course , but that is life I guess.

I would not touch this F40.

Buy one (a 87 model year) in Europe that has been used and maintained and export it to the US. As they are now 25 years old, they are DOT and EPA exempt.

It is a museum piece that will carry a huge premium. Buy one that has been used and maintained well. It will cost you a lot less and be far more reliable. Any F40 with 300 miles on it will need a complete recommisioning before it can be driven.
