F430 Spring rates - Ferrari Life

F430 Spring rates

This page is a chapter in the book F430.
F430 springs and Scuderia springs come in different versions usually called Yellow, White and Red. Yellow is the softest while red the stiffest.

Although, these 3 different versions of the springs have the same reference number. I you want to target a specific stiffness, you will have to specifically ask for it.

You can put Scuderia springs on your F430 without any difficulties. They are quite cheap (approx 150$ each) if you stay with the steel springs. The titanium Scuderia springs are indeed very expensive and slightly stiffer than the stiffest steel spring (red).

Grace to Terry, who put me on the right calculation method a while ago, Iíve been able to put together all the characteristics of the different springs.

For those who want to stay with OEM original parts, this reference table gives an overview of the different possibilities.

I put the stiffest red Scuderia springs on my F430 and after a complete alignment, the results are excellent. Even after lowering the car, with the stiffest Scuderia springs (red), the front of my car isn't hitting the ground anymore during hard braking.

As you can see, between the softest F430 spring and the stiffest Scuderia spring, there is quite a big difference in spring rate.
