Greg, what an awesome project! Wish you all the success and good fortune with it!

What do you have in mind for a powertrain? Please don't go through all this work on making a correct body, then drop an LSx in it!!!!

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Period correct Ferrari V12 engines occasionally come up on eBay, and modern V12's are there pretty often. A number of tuning houses build ITB manifolds for the modern V12's, so with enough cash, you could have a 5.75 liter V12 in there with all the modern amenities and still looking "fairly" correct.

And take a look at this one from Auto Restorations in Christchurch:

I've seen her in the flesh and she is mighty fine!

I believe around one million NZ$ which works out pretty cheap for you chaps. Auto Restorations, here in Christchurch are also high quality restorers with restoration prizes from top overseas concours events. All for under $100NZ per hour. See their website.
I have seen both the Tempero and Auto Restorations work and both are fabulous.
