Anyone know Ferrari paint?

What types and brands of paints has Ferrari used; when and on what models?

All I have been able to find is they used Glasurite and PPG single stage paints not sure what type on regular colors with some type of two coat clear system on metallics. Does anyone have specifics or more information?

Need a little more

There are Flifers that know almost everything. May I ask you to be a little more specific in terms of years, cars, etc? If you are, I suspect the answers will appear......

Second polite suggestion- do a search on the threads- there are many threads on say, Giallo or Rosso variants with a lot of the information you seek.

Here are a couple of links and resources:

More info to solve paint

A friend ran VIN: ZFFXA20A0H0070045 a 1987 FERRARI 328 GTS and it indicated that the color was 61431100 on the sticker it says Rosso Corsa.

I am wondering if it is a special type of Rosso Corsa or if they used a different manufacturer as they may have run out of the usual Red. I have also see this item number listed for an 85 308s see below in place of red. There is some reason for this.

I believe Ferrari was using Glasurit paint at the time the 87 328 and the 85 308 (listed below) were made and painted. Someone mentioned it looks like a Glidden Salchi item number. However, another said it looks like a Ferrari part number? Could they have used different paint mfg as they ran out of Glasurit?

glasurite

Hey Bro,,rossa corsa is rosso corsa BUT,,,yes they ran out of the old rossa corsa,,,I still have a qt of rc glasurite from the 80's for my qveuro.I also have Salchi rossa corsa from the 70.s.I just shot some brand new Glasurite and the gloss is WAY over the top so you cant use it for a partial on an 80's 328.Way to go on a partial is is PPG,,they are a generation behind and PPG rossa corsa will match 80's rc,,I just had Pats qveuro rear deck done but it had to go to a shop with a PPG mixing station. They have to color match your car because of fade over 30yrs.and the gloss is correct. If I was doing a complete today I would only use Glasurite,,anything else is 2cd class today,PPG might look period correct but that's nonsense.Last GTC I painted in Glasurite, the supply cost was crazy but the job looked Pebble,,,I also paint Ferrari 3 times,,like Junior house of color job..or Stramen,,,.
