full carbon doors 308

You probably know that for my trackrat I made two glassfibre/honeycomb doors.

By a cool incident I met a guy, owning a company making all kind of spoilerstuff for old cars and noticed he did not had any for the 308. To make a long story short: I had him use a door mould to enable him to make a door as a test.

Yesterday he delivered it.

It is made of full carbon (with some kevlar reinforment in the hinge-section) It's basically made for a trackcar so lacking all internals, but it's made in a autoclaaf/oven so the quality is really good.

He used carbon in combination with a thin honeycomb and stiffnes is beyond expectation.
the complete weight is only 2,5 kg!! ( obviously without any gear/glass, handles etc)

I told him that this looks very promising and that there might be some interest from around the F circles.
Price, depending on scale of productie running from US1800 per set of two exl. transport.

If anyone want more info or pics just sent me a pm with your private mail adress.

currently a '87 euro 328gts, a '83 euro 308gts and 2x 308gtb. (and still some old Audi's)

Im restoring the bumpers and found that she got the full DOT treatment.Removed 100lbs front and rear and I can definitely feel the reduction in rate of acceleration.308 doors are heavy,I agree, wheres the pics? the price is reasonable.

thank you Chris,

well indeed i'm not to responsive currently but more because i'm very very busy with my job.

Just to elaborate, since more than a year i'm very occupied with one of the 26 chemical plant design and construction for the biggest chemical plant build in one phase ever: Sadara (20B$ investment)

for those who are interested look at www.sadara.com

This work requires a lot of travelling to both India and Saudi and the time left I cautiously have to split between the cars and the family.

As soon as things getting better I wil make up for it here, promise

btw the trackrat is mechanically complete now and I actually started the engine last weekend. July 2012 was the last time it ran but it didn't take much the start it again. Just a couple of turns!
