Custom F355 Exhaust

I wanted something a little different and a little less expensive than the typical $5,000 Ferrari exhaust. I don't have the exact cost on it, but I do have a picture of the exhaust completed...

I am very excited. I am using the Fabspeed Headers into a Dynomax muffler with all stainless steel tubing.

Very cool. I think we're going to need a youtube clip to hear it with those electric exhaust cut outs opened!

Mark, it looks great and I'll bet it'll really uncork that 355. No more exhaust bypass valves!

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

That should get the job done Mark. It will be fun to hear what it sounds like!

Good news, it all fits, although it hits the frame in one spot. I will correct that one pipe... pretty easy fix honestly. Kudo's to Bell Engineering for getting the dimensions almost spot on without a car to work from.

Bad news, it's a little louder than I want. It's VERY aggressive sounding with the exhaust bypass closed, but sounds phenomenal above 5,000 RPM.

I am going to see if I can quiet it down some still, I believe that I can... part of the problem may be the one pipe with slight contact, causing the system to transfer more noise to the car. It was quiet enough not to get stopped while driving it, but the girlfriend conceded it was louder than she liked as well. If I think it's loud and she confirms that it is, it's probably too loud for daily driving.

Mark, there's always the Super Trapp's if you don't want to get into heavy mods of your existing system.

They're not the prettiest things in the world, nor the cheapest, but they work.

Well a bit of adjusting and some header tape went a long way. It's a lot quieter now.

It's still a bit louder than I like, but I can drive it for five hours and listen to the radio. So, not so bad. I still think putting high flow cats would leave it perfect.

Did you get a video of a drive by?

I plan on building something simular for my 348, its so quite it really doesn't sound like a Ferrari.

Not yet. I am in the middle of moving to guam, so I have nearly no time except to get things handled. Making a video at the moment is low on the priority list. It will happen once I get to guam.
