We need more information or details on your possible purchase. Price, color, model, service records, mileage, interior and exterior condition, etc.

I suggest reading the buyers guide under library of this forum to help you decide.

Per Monza's comments, need a lot more information before we could offer any advice. Have you had a pre purchase inspection done on it ?

Hey, Guys.

I've also been looking at 355s and was wondering about the PPI. Do I really need to get one done if the car is at a Ferrari Dealer? If so can I trust the dealer or should I get a 3rd party PPI.

Unless you have a long term relationship with the dealer, I would get the PPI done.

Vegas, get a PPI done from an independent. BTW, there is a nice '97 355 at ebay from a Mineapolis dealership.

Thanks for the heads up Monza. If your talking about the red one with the custom rims, I've been watching it. I know you have a spider, is it normal to have to push the top up the last few feet? The listing says they just had it serviced, but I was just wondering. With the weather as hot as it is here. I've been looking for a coupe. But I think I like the look of the spider better.

Vegas - Yes from what I have found out and confirmed with the Ferrari mechanic that most of the time you have to nudge or push the middle bar in order for the top to come up or down. I was frustrated the first time I got it and it failed, but once the original owner explained what had to be done, it works. To avoid wear and tear, I always keep the top down. Occasionally I put it up then back down to avoid it getting stuck from non-use.

I am watching the red one on ebay as well. It has about 23k miles and has a buy it now price for 71-72K. In my opinion that is a steal provided everything checks out. Carfax and PPI.

Mpls 355

So happens I live in the Mpls area. I tried to arrange to see it but the owner is out of town and the seller is 5 hours away in Iowa. I travel a lot so I will not be back until a week from now. If it is still available upon my return I'll give it a look and report back on it.

I myself would prefer a black coupe, stick, but I try to keep my options open.
