328 GTS Facts and Figures?

Hi Guys,

Great forum and I look forward to being a contributor as time goes on.

I am in the process of buying my first ever Ferrari this week ( a red 328 GTS with black leather) and was hoping you could help me.

I would like to buy a book that has all the production details on my model.

Info such as how many were produced in the varying color and trim combinations export details etc etc. Am I dreaming or does a book of this type exist. Any help along these lines (or similar) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance...........

Bob.

Bob,

Welcome, suggest you get two books:

- Our FerrariLife Buyers Portfolio

which can be ordered from http://www.brooklandsbooks.com/ or www.amazon.co.uk

- Original Ferrari V8 by Keith Bluemel which can also be ordered via Amazon.

Good luck.

Bob,

Welcome to the site. I am not familiar with a book that details the car this specific with each color etc. If it doesn't I'm up for helping put something together if we can get the data.

Hi Guys,

I appreciate the feedback.
I paid my deposit on the car today and we are working on a Saturday morning collection. I'm soooooooooo excited!

I bought the Original Ferrari V8 book by Keith Bluemel late this afternoon and really do recommend it to others.

I can't seem to work out how to get "Our FerrariLife Buyers Portfolio" book. Any other links for this one?
Thanks again.

Bob.

Hi,

Just to let you know, the "Original Ferrari V8" book is a good source of info but it has incorrect information about the 328GTS VIN range.

Congrats on a great car, Bob! My first Ferrari drive was a 328GTS, and I will never forget it! Does yours have a sports exhaust? It's highly recommend - the Tubi sounds fantastic.

Post some pics!

Sure, here are a few that I took long long after getting her. I have spent a fair bit of time putting final touches on her since but you will get the general idea.
Cheers,

Bob.

Yeah thanks..... It's my mates 300kw HSV GTS. Anyone outside Australia probably wouldn't have a clue what it is. The engine is straight out of the Corvette fitted with the LS1 - CB4 Calloway engine from 2003.

A 2005/06 version (LS-2) is next on my shopping list but that may well be 18 months away if at all.

the Monaro is sold here in Brazil, but under the name "Omega"

it actually is imported from Australia, very similar to the cars they sell there, but with the Chevrolet badge and other minor changes (like the name)

too bad here we don't have that V8 version with the Corvette engine, we only get the V6 here...

Interesting...........

The one in the picture is the flagship within the Holden (Australian GM) range. It's hotted up by HSV - (Holden Special Vehicles) in a similar way that Shelby tricked up the Mustangs and AMG do Mercedes.

Gun cars, 275kph top speed and a 1/4 mile in 13.3 seconds.

Beautiful 328 Just one observation, the rear badge says GTS 328, should it not be the other way round?

We have the corvette engined Monaro's over here in the UK too, I think they are called Vauxhall Monaro VXR's or something like that. Clarkson's had them on Top Gear a few times and reckons they are as much fun to drive as M5's, AMG Benz's and RS Audi's, and better still they are less than half the price of the German rivals.

MY favorite GM executive muscle car is still the Lotus Carlton though, there's one in my village and it's the dogs dangly bits.

Funny, the Lotus Carlton was also sold in Brazil under the name Omega and the Chevrolet badge.

But unlike the Monaro that comes from Australia, the Carlton was produced in Brazil.

The biggest engine it had here was a straight-6 with 4.1 liters and 168 bhp. Back then, it was the most powerful car produced in Brazil, but not the fastest: the Fiat Tempra Stile was faster with its turbocharged 2.0 liter engine producing 165 bhp.

BTW - we have a red Stile in the garage since 1996, and that's were my username comes from

Yes, you are 100% correct and has since been changed. The 328 part was correctly placed but the GTS badge needed to be lowered underneath it.

Bob, have you had much opportunity to test her out yet? I've had my 328 for 2 years and absolutely love it, hopefully you won't be disappointed with yours.

BTW, I love NSW too, I was lucky enough to spend 5 weeks there back in 1991, spending most of my time in Manly, but also taking in Gosport, Newcastle, Pearl and Palm beaches, and the Blue Mountains. I have great memories of that holiday, if not of my ex-girlfriend

No disappointment what so ever, I love the thing to death.

I've done a little over 1000 miles (1500kms) in under 6 months so not too much but enough to enjoy and preserve. I've got two runs planned for the next two consecutive Sundays so I hope the weather in good.

I'm pleased you enjoyed NSW. It's pretty good compared to most places in the world.
Cheers,

Bob.
