Accessibility of the Alternator on 308QV

My battery light is on. before it went on , the were a screeching/squeaking noise coming from the engine compartment of the car with acceleration at times. I concluded (and mind you I am no mechanic) the the alternator belt broke.
now, as I say I am no mechanic, but before I bring it to one, could someone tell me if the alternator is easily accessible or if I am heading to a world of pain?
Thanx

Phil.

Alternator

The alternator is not real easy to get at. You have to remove the right rear wheel and the inner wheel well panel. You will then be looking at the front of the engine. The alternator is located just forward of the crankshaft pulley. Putting a belt on is easy, getting the alternator and the wiring off is a chore. It's not even easy with a lift. -Steve

Thank you for the info.
I think I'll need to get it to the mechanic... I have no way to lift the car. but, the way you describe it should not be a Mega-project for a pro...
They should not charge me an arm and a leg for the work.

Alternator

Shouldn't be too bad for someone that's done it before. If you can do without the car for a few days, I'd suggest having your alternator rebuilt by a local shop. It's just a Bosch unit, and shouldn't be a big deal. On the other hand, getting one from Ferrari, or even a rebuilt one from a vendor, will set you back a lot. -Steve
