1982 308 GTSi Timing Marks

I'm converting to a new electronic ignition and I'd like to know how to set cylinder 1 TDC. From reading articles it sounds like there are Cam, Crank, and Flywheel marks. Which is the best or easiest to use?

The most accurate way to set timing is with the flywheel marks. Unfortunately, the marks are really hard to see, but they are there. PM 1-4 is TDC on the rear bank, and PM 5-8 is TDC for the front bank. It took me at least an hour to find the marks, and use some white-out on them so that I could see them with a timing light. I have tried to upload a picture of the flywheel marks, but don't seem to be able to do it. If you need one, I can email it to you. Good luck. --Steve

Upload problem fixed. Thanks Enzo250GTO.

Timing Marks

That's great. I figure with the timing mark set on the flywheel and the rear distributor rotor pointing at cylinder 1 then I can cold set everything from there. Once the ignition is running then we'll worry about dialing it in a bit. I appreciate the response.
