328 Seat Headrests

Anybody know how to get the headrests off a 328 seat? When pulled upward, the headrests seem to stop on something quite solid. Removing the seat back did not give me any better ideas. Thanks. -Steve

A hacksaw! Hahaha! Come out of the dark ages my friend! Of course Magnum is just kidding. You know how long it would take to hack through both headrest posts? This is the tool you need:

Headrests

OK, wise guys, I finally got it. In case YOU guys ever want to do this, here is the hot tip. First, remove the back panel of the seat. In true Ferrari fashion, it is pop riveted in. Then remove several of the hog rings at the top so you can get under the leather to the foam. Buried about two inches from the top of the seat are two hairpin clips. To find them, rip apart enough of the foam to get your fingers, then needle nose pliers in there. Pull the clips toward the center of the seat, and the headrest will slide right out. I have tried putting the headrests back in without the clips, and they seem to work just fine. They will hold in place where ever you position them. Maybe I'll eBay the clips..... -Steve

Thanks for the tip Steve. I guess you could do it that way. Takes a bit longer though. If you ever want me and Magnum to come over and help you work on your Ferrari, gettin' some things done in a hurry, just say the word.

Pete, I take it that they do not allow you to do any of the maintenance work on the Enterprise.

No, but I do walk around with a clipboard and dispense handy little tips such as this one.
