Replacement fuse panel for 308

I finally changed it out. As you can see I was starting to have problems with the old one. Many people say this is the single best upgrade you can do on a 308. It took an afternoon and cost about $40. Universal fuse holders from NAPA, a strip of aluminum, some pop rivets, new screws, a soldering iron and some piggy-back spade terminal connectors. One of the easier jobs I've done on the car. Making a new fuse panel is actually easier than changing the oil. Cleaner too! You can see on the back where I soldered 12 gauge solid copper wire to replace the old buss ties.
If you don't have a soldering iron or pop rivet gun you can just buy these fuse panels already built from Birdman for $100 http://www.birdmanferrari.com/ Save you from running around town chasing all the parts. If you get Birdman's fuse panel all you need is a screwdriver, a magic marker and 15 minutes of your time.

Thanks Pete for posting this. It looks like an upgrade well worth doing. I'll put it on my list of things to do. Excellent.

No problem, remember, "We're all in this together". Birdman will ship you fuseboxes to Ireland. If you would rather build your own, contact me and I will give you a materials list. If you can't find the fuse blocks locally (I don't imagine there is a NAPA store in your nieghborhood) I can pick them up for you and send them to you. It's about $12 for the fuse panels and probably another $10 to mail them to Ireland by air.

Excellent, thank you. I have to paint a Testarossa for a mate first and then hope to sort things on the 308 over the winter so I'll let you know when I'm ready

Thought I'd bring this back up top. Andrew, maybe you could move this to the new workshop section.

Can you send me a list of the NAPA part numbers for the fuse box and a picture of the other side with the pop rivets before you bolted it to the the fuse box? I have a 1982 308gtsi with a QV engine. You article was great.
