Source for Metric stuff.

This is a good source for metric hardware, nuts, bolts, hoses, and other stuff. Located in MA. No minimum order. They seem to ship promptly as well.

If you are going to tell someone how to remove a bolt you should at least know which way to turn the wrench.

Thanks for the post! I was up late last night and saw a few things on the site I thought I could use. My email this morning said it was $127 late night bing and it all shipped today.

This is much more fun than staying out all night drinking, like I used to do in my youth!

Hey Grant,

Those look close.

See attached photo - one is the OEM original rubber tipped nut and the other is the new nut supplied by FNA.

Some dealers have in house stock and when I ordered last I received some of the rubber tipped and some of the new. I called and question and learned that FNA now only supplies the metal dome nuts.

The thread is M5 x .8 with an 8mm hex.

Good point, however, I don't think the new metal dome ones are. I've got a bag of 50 of these at home - I'll have a look.

The metal dome are decent - the only issue is that if the stud is too long, when tightening the dome pops off - ask me how I know

OK guys, so I have located a source for the metal dome nuts (and they are nylock - I will confirm the ones from FNA are also). I've got some emails into a few suppliers for rubber tip - I'll see what comes of it. I've got my main fastener supplier on it too.

Dave,

Do you know if the OEM rubber tipped nuts were SS? Are the metal dome nuts SS or cadmium plated?

Jerry, I believe the OEM nuts are plated steel. The new ones appear to be SS but I'm not certain. The steel dome nuts I've found can be ordered in plated steel or SS steel.

Confirming new style nut from FNA is stainless steel with nylock. Nylock is hard to see, but it's there (blue ring)
