Throttle cable and clip photo

Hi all

See my grey throttle cable with the slight split in the sheathing?
See also the white cable clip attached to the bottom of the tunnel?

Is the throttle cable supposed to sit in the clip?
It wasn't when I removed the leather tunnel.

This is a RHD F355 btw....

Yes, the clip should hold it - snap it back in. The small cut in the cable won't harm anything especially since it's inside the car and protected from the environment.

Be sure to check cable slack as there may be a reason it came out

No slack

Throttle action is very smooth as well

Came out because some idiot before me didn't do it right

Just like the missing sheathed handbrake cable clip
And the missing battery mat/lockdown clamp
And all the wrong underpanel screws
And wheelarch liner screws

Etc.....etc....

Howard there should be some slack in the cable. I forget the exact amount i will seee if i can find the spec.
I can not really find a spec not sure if it was written in the wsm or just quoted by someone. I did find that the throttle boddies and canble have "minimum backlash" but thats it. I would think common sense would prevale in this case. Ie some minimal slack good too much bad type of thing.
