Awesome 348 web page

Stumbled across this:
http://webpages.charter.net/aircover...348Spider.html
Pretty darn good page. Now I want a 348.

That is an excellent page on the 348.

Clearly the author is very passionate about the model.

348's should be parked in first gear, with parking brake engaged. 348 engines should be turned off with the gearshift lever in Neutral, and they should be started with the gearshift lever in Neutral.

does this sound contradictory to anyone else?

Actually no. This is the same procedure you use on a BB. Only thing missing is that the clutch should be engaged when starting and turning off the car.

So do you turn the engine off in N the shift it into 1st gear and put the Ebreak on? cause it says park in first but turn off in N

Yes, I turn the engine off with the car in Neutral, then I put it into first gear and set the parking brake. Starting up, I put in it into neutral and engage the clutch, then I turn the key to fire it up.

I do it this way to take stress off the engine when it is starting and stopping.

I just put my right foot down, start it in gear and hang on!

Just kidding, I always put it in neutral, depress the clutch and then start it. I don't bother putting it in neutral to stop it. I usually just push in the clutch, shut it off, and then put it in reverse. I've always put all my cars into reverse when parked. Any reason why 1st would be preferred?

Can't think of one, putting it in 1st is just an old habit. Maybe just lazy, reverse requires more effort : )
