328 Underside

Hi All,

I recently had a look at the front bottom/underside of my 1988 328GTS after hitting out a couple of times.

I found what looks like a fiberglass cover that protects battery and front part of the car.

However, upon closer examination, it seems to me that the front left part (when standing in front of the car) has more fiberglass covering than the front right part, and also the front left part seems to have a small bend to it.

Unfortunately cannot take any pictures as I don't have hydraulic lift but would appreciate anybody having pictures of this area so I can make out if my car has any unusual parts...

Thanks for feedback.

Frank

Sorry, I don't have any pictures for you. However, I can tell you that there is a separate fiberglass cover under the left front corner of the car (as you are looking at the car). It hangs down a couple of inches lower than the rest of the belly pan. If you look through the front grille, you will see the air conditioning condenser, and that extra cover is there to protect it. Mine was pretty scratched up, but some fiberglass screen, resin, and a can of undercoating fixed it up just fine. Good luck. --Steve

underside

Thanks Steve,

at least it clarifies that there is a difference between the left and right front underside :-))

Now, next thing, figuring out why the windscreen washer does not work:
a: no water - should be easy fix :-)
b: nozzles clogged up - probably a bit more difficult
c: spray pump motor defect - will have to figure it out.

Cheers,
Frank

Windshield Washer

Mine didn't work either. However, it never rains in Phoenix, so I just took that ugly washer bottle out and stuck it in the attic ;-) --Steve
