Question About Fluids

This is kind of a long question, but I figured there's a lot of knowledge on this forum so here it goes:

I was underway for two weeks and when I got home last weekend I noticed a small puddle of fluid with a green tint on the garage floor. My first thought was that it was coolant, but there was no fluid under the engine. This puddle originated from the rear passenger tire. I checked the fluid levels anyway (all normal) so I really have no idea what this is. It wasn't there before I left. I, unfortunately, haven't been able to drive the car since the first week of January and I never saw this fluid until I last weekend. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas or experience with this. I wouldn't even know what to tell a mechanic at this point. Thanks!

Chris- Sounds like coolant from the color. You sure it was not just water from the AC evaporator a bit further forward?

The only green fluid in that car is engine coolant. Most likely it has dripping down and running off the frame or suspension and collecting onto the ground, off point from the actual leak.

Thanks for the replies! I spoke to my mechanic and he gave me some things to check. Could be brake fluid - not exactly the right color and I don't see any leaks in those areas. Could be from the shocks - don't see anything around there either. There is some coolant plumbing in that area so it could be that. Or it could the water pump (he said they've been known to weep in extreme weather like we had here). I took it for a drive and didn't notice anything out of normal. I'll probably just have to take it in and let them look.

Chris- If she still has the original water hoses, there would be no wonder why there is coolant leaking somewhere. Lots of long hoses in a 328.

I hope it's not the hoses. I replaced ALL of them when I bought it because they were all leaking.

Hi Chris, found the problem ? I was thinking its the coolant overflow but you mentioned it was on the rear passenger tire side.

It looks like it was just the cold. It warmed up and I've never seen it again. I've had it out a few times and there were no problems. Might need to heat the garage, I guess.
