Thanks, Dave! I actually found your write up when performing my first oil change. Definitely helpful!

I'm assuming the answer to my question is, yes, I will need to drain the oil prior to pilling the pressure relief valve...

Next question, will i 'alter' anything by simply pulling the pressure relief valve to inspect it?

Dave thanks for the link. It is very encouraging and I have an itch to do it myself. If only I could find the time nowadays. well, a lift would help tremendously too!

whoops. wasn't paying attention and just realized i was posting in the wrong thread (you had be offering advice on troubleshooting my high oil pressure).

either way, I was referring to the bolt with the sticky spring that helps regulate the pressure at different RPM (near the oil drain bolt)

Yeah, John and I spoke about that the other night. He doubts that is your probably and we are both fairly certain you will need to drain the oil to mess with it as it does have a crush washer and it is in the bottom of the sump.
