Are there different colors of red for 355s based on Year?

I was wondering if there was a change in the color of red used on the F355, particularly from 1995 compared to later models. I understand that there is Rosso Barchetta and Rossa Corsa. However, I thought I was looking at a 1995 car painted in Corsa but it looks "redder" than comparable 96 through 98 models?

Your insight on this issue would be appreciated

The new red Rosso Scuderia was only offered as option at the end of 2003. It was a USD5,000 option. Then in 2004 it was a no-cost option with the Challenge Stradale.

There was no additional reds offered for the F355.

Different Reds

Did Ferrari tweak Rosso Corsa between 1995 and 1996?
I am looks at 4 different cars and keep coming to the same conclusion... that the color of the 1995 is different. The 96, 97 and 98 seem to have a brighter red orange tint.

I just don't get it.

Some owner may respray their car. For example this F355 owner changed the yellow of his car to make it lighter:

Here are the available colors for that time (95-98ish):

Rosso Barchetta 312 (early spiders?)
Rosso Corsa 300/12
Rosso Fiorano (a dark non-metallic red similar to Barchetta)
Rosso Monza Metallic 311/C

98-99:

Rosso Barchetta 320
Rosso Corsa 322
Rosso Fiorano 321

Rosso Barchetta:

Rosso Fiorano would be darker.

Rosso barchetta was only used on the 355 spiders in 95. I have one of maybe a handfull (if that)of Rosso Barchetta spiders in the UK.
Also the some of last of the 348 spiders were also painted Rosso Barchetta in 94. So clearly they had some left over for the 355 spiders:-)

Thanks you for your insight. I believe that one of the cars must be a different paid code.
This information will help!

Dan,

If you have a digital camera I suggest shooting a few shots of the darker red you are talking about and we will be able to tell you in more detail what color is what. Best of luck in your search and please keep us posted.

Actually, therein lies my difficulty.

I have digital photos of 3 or 4 cars taken in similiar lighting.
One of the cars, a 95, really appears different. It appears darker than the 97-98 red 355s but not as dark as the Barchetta. If I can figure out how do it, I can post the photos and perhaps you will see what I mean. Unfortunately, the cars are 2000 miles apart from each other!

Well that picture that you have posted is indeed the standard Rosso. Could it be a posability that the 95 car you saw was a respray and not factory?
