355 GTS too soft and squeaky with roof off?

Hi I am looking for a 355 F1 and have been reading through a lot of forums lately. Last week I got in contact with a guy who seems to know a lot about the 355 and asked him about the GTS. According to him the GTS is too soft due to the targa roof and the lack of reinforcements to the chassis. He found the roof squeaky and annoying and suggested the Spider or the GTB.
I am not interested in the GTB so I need to figure out if the Spider is an option. I would like to take it to the race track occasionally and felt he GTS would be better in that case. I also like the look of the GTS better.

Does any one share his concerns about the squeaky roof and softer chassis? He also said the Spider is better due to reinforcements. Any comment from owners of Spiders and GTS would be very welcome.

Up until very recently I had a F355 GTS. Never had any problems with the roof squeeking and the chassis is plenty stiff.

Actually the only squeaks you might get if your seals are dry are with the top on, not with the top off. GTS discussions are always what you might loose, but seldom about what you're certain to gain: beside the pleasure of open air motoring, an incomparable aural experience.

The 355 is one of the best sounding Ferraris, refined, subtle, but you get only 20% of that with a GTB, even with the windows down.

Drive a GTS with the top off, and all nitpicking about loss of rigidity may suddenly become VERY secondary.
