1983 308 2 valves per cyl?

Hi everyone,
Is it possible to have a1983 308 2 valves per cyl instead of being a QV? I thought all 1983 were QVs. This particular model is the Euro version. Please let me know. Thanks.

Need some more information, like vin number, build date. Anything is possible. There were a handful of early QVs that were 82 models. I don't think they would have had a reason to continue to build 2 valves after the introduction of the 4 valve. It could be an 82 being sold/advertised as an 83 to move it through a dealer's inventory?

Current: 85' GTS QV
It's a simple process...... it's just complicated by human beings....

Outside of the USA there are many methods of assigning a model year and when it was built doesn't mean a lot. By our standards 83 was a QV but in other countries many earlier cars were registered as 83.

Ok got VIN number and engine number. VIN is ZFFHA02B000041249
and engine number F1068-01275
I decoded the VIN which confirm euro GTSi model but not sure of the year.
I can't decode the engine number... Help!!

The B in the VIN indicates it is a EU version. As such there is no model year designator.
The H in the VIN indicates it is an EU version of the 2V injected either 308 or Mondial
The O2 in the VIN indicates it is a 308GTSi
41249 would have been built somewhere in February or March of 82


The F1068 is really F106B. That indicates a 2V injected motor. 1275 means it was the 1275th Euro version F106B motor built.




At the time no other country in the world really cared what model year a car was. The US only did so that it could keep track of required smog and safety equipment. Non US cars did not have any way to determine production date because no one cared.

Thank you so much... So does that make sense that the car could be an 83 model from a US title point of view?
