Actually I think it's going to last longer than that as there's so many cars and drivers to talk to. Everybody is going to be so excited about everything and anything. then, there's the spectator who will ask question, take pictures and so on. I'll say about 3 1/2hours top.

Sounds like fun. I wish that there would be something closer to the Central Coast, tho; LA is a fairly long drive, especially for a short event! And yes, we have many events in August, but after all that's only in the Fall. Cheers, though-

Rich, as much as we love to have you join us, I agree it's kind of far for such a short event but, you can still come if you like. If you know anyone else with 308 or 328, you guys can make it fun and caravan over here. Anyway if not, we will plan another gathering and hopefully closer to you so that 3x8 owner from NorCal can join too. In fact, for a long time now we have been planning a west coast 3x8 gathering but it's too hard as it is a big project. But, if you like to host a meet please let us know or post something here or at Ferrarichat.com thank Rich.

Mike

Too far for me too but still a great idea. Good luck! I wish we could do a similar thing on the east coast. Someone please take plenty of pics and video.

Current: 85' GTS QV
It's a simple process...... it's just complicated by human beings....

Well, why not? Who might have the contacts necessary to seek a bit of local help in not so much putting on something on the Central Coast (by which I mean Monterey) but in getting the word out and seeing just who might be interested in such an event. Many types of event formats, as well... just an informal get-together, or even something arranged with a local restaurant or whatever. I'm not talking about a serious driving event - such as at Laguna Seca- but keeping it simple. Some years back I - together with the Kiwanis club I belonged to- hosted the Monterey Peninsula British Car Meet, which was held from 1996 to 2001. Which means I have a certain amount of experience in putting such things on, though those events were held for charity fundraising as well as for some fun. Maybe the cars are not quite the same but that's not really the point. Of course there will be a lot of events in Monterey this coming August, so either earlier in the year or somewhat later would be best.

Anyway if anyone's interested in such an event please get back to me at [email protected], & I'll get back to them!
Cheers,
Rich

I'm doing well MB, thanks for asking. Right now me and my friend Jim are trying to organize this 3x8 gathering and so far, there are 25 interested in showing up. We are hoping that we can have a 3x8 gathering on a regular basis but, we will see. Anyway, how about yourself MB how are you doing?

Hi Rich, sometime in the past there were this rumors or at least a talk about organizing a 308/328 West Coast reunion but as you know it never happen. Now if you would like to start and organize a west coast gathering please do so and if you need our assistance, let us know and we will try to help make it happen. I know it sounds like a long shot but if there is enough interest out there, you never know.

Hi again. What is really needed to get going is a timeframe not overly close to the many events in August- the Pebble Beach Concours, the Historic Races, and all the rest, including the Concorso Italiano.

Though I only have a couple of contact numbers for Dinos thru 328 owners so far (reclusive lot, that!) I can work on obtaining more. I've been told that there are somethng like 10 or so such cars locally. I don't really know for sure, though. It would be nice to have a larger gathering, of course. But you have to start somewhere, and picking a potential timeframe would be a good start. So, what to do during the event? Of course, a simple coffee or wine get-together, possibly a wine tour, (lots of local vineyards, not just tasting rooms, but such events need to be scheduled in advance), driving down Highway 1 to Big Sur or whatever, and so on. Lots of decent restaurants, of course, mostly the specialty fish houses. Stopping somewhere for a nice lunch might be fun!

So can anyone suggest a good time of year to make the drive to the Monterey Peninsula, not particularly associated with other events (larger events make local driving difficult!)?

My direct e-mail contact is [email protected].

I look forward to hearing from some of you.

Cheers,
Rich

I am doing ok...working a ton both days and my transport business. I am also going to go back active reserve in the Navy so my plate is full. Family is good though and I am blessed in many ways so nothing to cry about. Wish I were closer to you guys out there to do the 3X8 show with you, sounds like a blast.
