Update on 308GT4 Coil Replacement

I ordered the recommended Crane coils from Summit, and two days later they appeared at my door! So, today is the swap out. To begin with, my GT4 has been modified to a pointless ignition system. I'm not sure what the make is. There are lots of extra wires - coil to ballast and ballast to electronics.

I removed the coils from the brackets, and discovered that the originals are 2.25" where the Cranes are 2.125". This doesn't seem much of a difference, but the bolt that pinches the bracket to hold the coil does not have enough threads to close down on the body.

Should I insert something to take up the additional space? If so, what material is safe to use? Or, should I get a longer bolt? But, using a longer bolt my not allow the bracket to align with the bolts that hold it in place.

And I thought this was going to be easy. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. --RBruce
