348 heater and a/c controls

My 348's heating and a/c controls are on the fritz. Intermittent failure at first (endearing Ferrari ownership anecdote level) but now it seems more serious.

Any advice for 1st things to check ?

Check the fuse in the front trunk near the brake resevoir - you have to pull the carpet up to see it though - its right down next to the AC intake.

They have a bad habit of melting causing the AC to go off/clock keep resetting and other wierd stuff

Incidentally, if you are a user of that forum, you may know my car. It was meticulously rebuilt by one of the forum moderators, Steve. It's a (the) TDF blue spider.

Yes I know Steve and saw his/now your car at his workshop when I visited him once - very nice indeed :-)

Try cleaning the connections at the back of the panel with contact cleaner and also make sure they are securely in place. If it works sometimes and not others it does sound like a loose connection.
