Just bought F355 Spider - Thinking about driving it home from Denver to Westerly RI

Just bought a Ferrari F355 spider this week. I'm in Westerly, RI and the car is out in Denver Colorady, so I'm planning to fly to Denver this Saturday and than drive the car home.

The car just had it's belts and other things done by Dave Helms a couple months ago at 35K miles. I chatted to Dave about the car, so that inspired some confidence that it will make it without needing roadside repairs.

My route will most likely be: Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, but considering also stopping in South Dakota to take a look at mount Rushmore.

What do you think?

Never been out west past Wisconsin.
What are some good scenic highways?

Thanks
Russ

Rus, congrats, looks fabulous.

Should be a trip to remember. What better excuse to have to take a long drive ! Should be a great intro for you to get to know the car. That route should be a breeze.

I have done cross country, coast to coast, multiple times, albeit not in such an exotic car tho. I was a poor, poor student then.

Enjoy in safety.

w/ smiles

Russ- You will have a blast and there is some pretty scenery along your route, but the west really just starts at Denver on the route you are taking. Denver is an east slope town, with the Rockies just to the west. Road and Track and another magazine just did series on great drives, some of which are definitely east of Denver.

Welcome to Ferrari Life and if Dave healed her, she should be ready to go. Very pretty car. Bring a radar detector.

Drove the car home. Made a few stops along the way - St Louis, Kansas City, Indianapolis ... Was a good trip, no problems

Make sure your coolant temps stay within limits, between 11:30 and 12:00 o'clock throughout the entire trip.

Awesome! Bet you had a blast! I recently drove my new Spider home from Cleveland to NJ. What a ride! A lot of the drive was at night, in the fog...but it is a ride I will never forget. Congrats, beautiful car.
