Think Greg is going to claim his charitable donation at $138,480 ?

I once heard how much a raffled off Countach was claimed at. I laughed out loud. Trouble is IRS, State and DMV expects income and sales taxes to be paid on the donaters declared value.

In the case of the Countach it got close to the real value of the car.

I'll pop for a ticket or two. I'm sure I wont win, but what fun it would be telling people that I won a Ferrari for $100. Plus I'm sure I've wasted MUCH more than that on stupid crap.

I called up there today to find out what they are trying to raise money for. The IMRC has records on all forms of racing, from Formula 1 down to Saturday night circle track racing. They do one big fund raiser like this a year.

They told me that the car has a little over 1,200 miles on it, and that the guy donating it bought it new. And as of yesterday (08/19) they had sold 1,000 of the 2,308 tickets.

Brian, does the owner's name show up in any of the records you have?

Blu, did you take in pictures of the interior? I'm looking to buy a ticket or two, but would love to see what the car looks like inside.

My apologies Frank, I did not. It's a nice cause and historic vehicle - go for it. Interior is classic 308 and would be a great win for any of us here. Maybe we should agree to do something like the FCA Miller provided 599 and each select a cause by city - but ship it around the world to each flife member wanting to participate. Hmm, should have bought a couple tickets . . .
