348 thats too "good" to be true?

I'm searching for my first F car, and while I would prefer a 328 GTS, I ran across this ad for a 91 348:
1991 Ferrari 348TS for sale | Hemmings Motor News

My first question is, does this car belong to a member of FL? The price seems WAY to "good" to me. Just looking through the pictures, the fact that there are only 7 has me on edge.

Thoughts/comments?

I general try and steer people away from the 348's because of technical issues and cost per mile to keep them going. There is a reason 328 is much stronger in the market.

If a 348 is what someone really wants I strongly suggest a 93 or 94. 89, 90 & 91 had a lot of issues.

That particular car?

The fact that the owner didn't care enough to put a set of wheel center caps on it and go over the engine bay with a rag to take off a layer of dirt says a lot to me.

A 348 under 40K is either a problem, a highly motivated seller, or an act of desperation.

My 348 SS is listed if your interested.

Frank,

Lane's 348 is in my backyard. Although I haven't serviced the car, I've seen her up close at several social events over the last few years. If you really want a nice 348, this one is worth considering...

That was kind of my thinking as well. And the fact that there were so few pictures. While I don't expect the engine bay to be surgically clean, some degreaser and WD40 can go a long way (at least for non-F cars).

If I were to get a 348 I would want a Spider, but still think a 328 GTS would be my best, easier to maintain, fewer "bugs", etc.
