Brake pads brand

Hey Guys, do you know with what brand brake pads the 328's originally came with ?

Someone told me PAGID once, but I'm not sure.

I need new rear brake pads, I can get FEMO or FERODO easily but I'm not sure if they are good or they will create to much heat on the Rotor Discs or if these brands can withstand the heat generation.

My front pads are new and apparently they are BREMBO wich I can't find at the moment.

please help.

Johnny- OM says to use Ferit I/D 346 GG brake pads. I assume Ferit is Ferodo Italy.

I'm using Girodisc pads. If your 328 is a road car, these are quite good. For track, you'd want to use something more aggressive.

These days with so many brake pad compounds and materials I really like to stay with matching front and rear pads. Different pads can have very different braking characteristics and you can get some undesireable braking qualities with mismatched sets.

Also different pads react differently on different rotors depending on rotor composition so what you like in your 550 or BMW may be very different in your 328.

Mintex Extreme was absolutely, positively the best brake pad I ever experienced in the 328 but they were discontinued. If you can still find any get them.

Thanks Brian, I could only get ATe, Femo or Ferodo, after a few reviews and talks I got Ferodo Premium.

They look exactly like the originals, the same centre groof and shape.

I'l replace them this weekend.

A Ferrari shop in Berkeley suggested Porterfield for a 328. I have yet to try them
