Ferrari Bertone Rainbow: current fate?

I am curious about the fate of the Rainbow, as I am collecting data on my favorite subject--old concept cars that hit the road. . Once I wrote Bertone
and asked them the price of it and they said they wouldn't sell it but would make another for $250,000. I gather that it has been at a couple auctions since then and not sold (anybody remember the high bid?) It seems like it would be a fully roadable car being based on a 308GBT4.
Anybody know the scuttlebutt on why Ferrari refused to go for it? I was surprised reading on the net that Lilli Nertone bought over 80 of the firm's 90 prototypes, when Bertone declared bankruptcy.

Anything you can say about the Rainbow as a possible investment would be appreciated. I think it's more roadable than many a concept but don't actually know if everything works. Some others who have bought Ferrari prototypes (like the Pinin) had to spend hundreds of thousands to make them a fully working car.

Apparently it was too weird. It was a full roadgoing car if I remember correctly.

Current: 85' GTS QV
It's a simple process...... it's just complicated by human beings....
