308 - difference Fibreglass to steel bodies

The first 308s had fibreglass bodies. Are they much lighter than the later steel bodied cars? Do they feel much different to drive and are there and advantages or disadvantages?

My Euro vetroresina weighed in at 1320kg with half a tank of petrol. I understand that this is about 40-50kg lighter than a steel bodied GTB and about 100kg less than a GTS. The fibreglass body was very thick and of good quality. Occasional rattling from the rear deck was the only disadvantage I can think of. Advantages include less weight, rarer (only 712 made, all GTB) and rust resistant body (though of course the underlying chassis was steel and susceptible to rust like any other GTB). I loved that little Berlinetta! We shared 20,000 fantastic km together.

Current: 365BB, 550 bluebird and a few 911's
Past: 246gt, 512BB, 308 GTB "Michalone" and a few 911's
