Ed, you should blow some of these up. It would look great in my garage next to some of the other framed photos I have of yours.

The weather at Rockville Antique and Classic Car show was great. Cool, sunny, light breeze and lots of cars and spectators. As the car had won the Best in Show - People's Choice Award last year, this year it was for Display Only. There were all kinds of race cars there as a special display group.

Attached are a couple of photos, the second one is leaving the show and shows my concern about driving around all those big SUVs.

Best regards,

You are right Ed, but even behind that mask I am truly smiling.

To keep the record in this thread, the attached is the front cover of the Program from the show this year. The little blue car is on the cover because it won the Best of Show - People's Choice last year. This year was a "Display Only" for my car.

Best regards,

This is mostly off topic but thought I would share. On this past Friday HelenAnn and I on our 50th wedding anniversary had a marriage vows renewal ceremony at the beautiful U. S. Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis Maryland. Our son Bryan escorted HelenAnn down the long aisle to me and the Chaplain waiting at the altar. Bryanís wife Elizabeth and our two grandsons and our photographer friend Fernando were the audience. The sounds of that magnificent pipe organ music reverberated throughout the entire chapel. The vows were simple as we committed to continue to love, honor, comfort and cherish each other as long as we shall live. Another very memorable day.

The second photo below is in keeping with the fact that this is a Ferrari forum. It was taken by Kate Lawler as HelenAnn and I drove the little blue car off the winnerís ramp at the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours díElegance with our First in Class and Enzo trophies firmly in hand. Clearly I could not have chosen a better life partner. She bore our son Bryan with the appropriate car guy genes and now we delight in watching his two sons explore and grow. Upon reflection I consider myself a very lucky man.

Best regards,

Admiral,

Congratulations to you and your beautiful bride. 50 years with somebody and to say you could not have found a better life partner is AMAZING. I see people spending ridiculous amounts of money on weddings and have the marriage not last, doesn't make sense to me. But when people can make it 50+ years and still love each other, THAT is when you should really celebrate.

Oh and stunning car too!

Thank you, Admiral for sharing this with us at FL. Those pictures speak thousand words. Nothing but admirations for you two. Congratulations.
Not very often you get to see a man of dignity and substance, which is proven not with words but his actions and behaviors. Truly, nothing but envy. w/ smiles Jimmy

Admiral, congratulations to you and HelenAnn.

Today, I listened to the radio on the way to the office, and was told that it was "Blue Monday". Apparently the most depressing day of the year (scientifically proven!?). What a nice antidote to such deprssing thoughts your message and pictures were! And how it proves that FL is more than just a car community.

My wife and I are together 17 years this year, which is more than half of our lives. If we can tell a similar story to yours in another 33 years, any other type of success will be insignificant in comparison. I hope there are many more happy years ahead for you.

Thanks guys for all the complementary remarks. As you can see not only do I have the Mondial but this is my Testa Rossa.

Doug, my expert advice on the Super Bowl is : do not bet on the Redskins or the Rams for years to come!

Ed, The Severn Inn was a nice spot with a good view back across the river to USNA.

Terry, today was day 5 of the second fifty!

Best regards,

Robert

Dear Ed,

Don't feel bad, I can't run 1K either. I will say that HelenAnn has taken 1st in her age group in the last four races entered, to which she says "At my age there isn't much competition left".

Best regards,

PS Enjoy Cavallino

Congrats on the renewal and the 55 years of marriage. Clearly, you are a great man that has lived a great life. I wish you even more success in the future.
