Dear Ed,

Yes both HelenAnn and I will be there probably arriving around 7:30 or so to move TLBC from the trailer lot up to the Hotel Hershey showfield.

Recuse yourself??? This concours is judged by the French Style guidelines and every judge will have a bias one way or another, accordingly you will fit right in!

Is your Dad or Paige coming?

Best regards,

Robert

I think Ed was referring having to recuse himself from judging the St. Michael's show where he has judged for a couple of years now, I think.

You can't recuse yourself now, Ed! Not after our "deal"!!! By the way, Dad, you will be getting a 10,000 gallon fish tank in your great room sometime in august . . . . you will learn to love cleaning it.

As promised, this is more. As you can see from the fountain sprays above, there was very little breeze, the sun was very bright and the temperature and the humidity were quite uncomfortable, but the conditions were much better than last year with the rain and then the tornado warning.

At the end of the show TLBC was awarded the Most Elegant trophy for the Sport and Racing Category. However the next award was, in my mind, a very special and favorite recognition. This is not a commercial plug, but as you may know, Hagerty sponsors a Youth Judging program in a effort to get youngsters of today involved with the concours and judging aspects of our hobby. Under the tutelage of an experienced car judge the youngsters are given score sheets and are instructed on how to listen to the car presenter, ask any pertinent questions, and then look over the car. Once they have finished they fill out their check lists and move on to the next car. When TLBC received the First Place trophy in the Youth Judges Choice Award HelenAnn and I had large smiles because the children have not yet formed the strong car biases or preferences that most of us have, they don't really understand provenance and early history but they do know what delights their eyes and minds. Thus a special award in my view.

Best regards,

Congratulations, Admiral. Your car is always the most special to see here in the forum. Only downside, on any picture of the car, european background can never be seen ??

Admiral- Congratulations. TLBC is going to need her own room just to hold her trophies.

Ha, indeed a great one, Admiral ! These days computers do (almost) everything. However when looking at the "tiny" Hotel Palace at the lower right end corner compleately out of proportion in respect to the hikers, I sincerely hope that this picture/map is not an official one from the US Navy. Otherwise I would get doubtful about the abilities of modern strategical Navy planing ?! ;-)

Dear Rolf,

Actually I think the photo came from the Swiss Navy...

Seems as though the hotel is in the next valley over, but TLBC is not leaving a dust trail.

Best regards,

Robert
