Jimmy- Feet were definitely offset to the center, as with many of the early mid-engine cars. A 250 LM only weighed about 1800 lbs, so with 320 or so hp, acceleration was pretty good. An intemediate gear set allowed top speeds matched to the circuit you were on, just like the 250P it was based upon. Highest speed gearset gave about 192 mph top speed, lowest about 140 mph, and a lot more low speed acceleration.
