Greg Garrison's 410SA 0671--any details on how he bought it?

I know this is years ago but one time I met this man named Greg Garrison, TV producer, who was displaying a Ferrari with tailfins. I thought it was a Tour de France 250GT but it was a 410SA , SN 0671. I found out later that he had retrieved the chassis from a privately-owned lake in Grant's Pass OR but am curious to know if the farmer bought the chassis (as barchettacc.com says) whether it was legally his if it was stolen? And what happened to the engine (did that go inthe lake too?) I notice when RM sold it, it had the original no. engine. How did Garrison hear of it? Maybe he was working from a list of famous lost Ferraris and the insurance company told him about it? I wonder what led him to Oregon, to that lake? I can't him, he has passed away years ago and his cars sold off. Love to hear from an Oregon Ferrari fan that knows the story ....
