On the ex-Dr. Scher 330GTS SN9343
This car was found in 2013 I think, in a carport in Pennsylvania in a carport. It had suffered a fire that cracked and blackened the windscreen and no doubt burnt the wiring back in '67 when its first owner Dr. Samuel Scher, a prominent surgeon in NYC, had sold it through is insurance company to a Pennsylvania trucker.
Sat 44 years
Then found by someone who bought it(I can't remember the amount, maybe $1 million) and took it to the Gooding in Scottsale, I think in 2014 and sold it for a nice profit.
My question is: how did they find it? It had sat there for 44 years. The Pennsylvania trucker was not out and about with the car where it could be seen. I'd also like to know, for historical purposes, what the insurance company sold the car for?
Has the owner who put it in the auction been identified?
Thanks for any clues.
By the way there's lots of pictures on the Anamera site. 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS for sale: Anamera
