Digging for "D" history

When I bought "D" in early 2009, I received a big package of documents and receipts from ownership from the years 1992 until 2009 and today, also the car was bought Classiche certified. However the time before was unclear until a couple of years ago, when it was found out that Derek Bell was the first owner. Subsequently, with emails from Derek but even more with the help of Marcel I was able to get the original border and factory delivery receipts from Garage Francorchamp, when the car was delivered to Derek as well as the receipt when he sold it back to Francorchamp and sunsequently receipts fron Francorchamp to the second owner and when that one sold it back in '75. Very nice all original papers. Subsequently I received a big amount of pictures from 2 pre owners from '92 to 2005, when they owned the car, as well as a Report from the well known Swiss car paper "Automobil Revue" in 2004, when "D" was portrayed. The 4th latest owner promised to send me lots of documents from his ownership as I finally was able to locate him. Now with ALMOST all books, papers, documents counting up to maybe 400 pages, the happyness grows by the day. Well almost, as the time between '77 and '85 is still empty, filled with a Name of a guy in south France who I still need to contact. Hopefully, at the end, that timespan will be covered as well.

That's quite a comprehensive trove 212. I've done the same thing for my Spider, albeit on a much [I]smaller[I] scale. I hope the next owner appreciates it (a LONG time from now....)

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

212- Knowing the history can give you a nice, warm feeling. She is surely in great shape now, especially with all the driving they love.

Well done 212
That's a truly great achievement.
Two of the owners of my car have now passed away so its best to do the digging as soon as possible.
I have spent the last four years looking and have amassed quite a file now, the guy i bought the car from, said he had lost the file but i could have it for an extra 5000 he even put this on the bill of sale, I guess he never found it! I must have far more now than he ever did and all i have spent is 160 for Ferrari's history plus the DVLA history and lots and lots of time.

I am still at it, yesterday i bought a possible photo [ very long shot] and only last week i e-mailed Costantino Bertuzzi in the USA, who is the son in law of the first owner, to try to get a reply from the first owner, I am like a dog with a bone, just won't give it up!
