On the road again...

Hi guys, after a loooong winter and a soaking fuel line 2 weeks ago while initially starting the engine today I finally had the chance to take "D" out for the first 25 miles in 2013. What a great feel to smell, hear and handle old "D" again. Runned it up to 80 C oil and 90 C water, smooth and loud (after getting used to the 6 cyl. Boxer of my wifes 89' 911) and much more purposeful.. I just loved it and feel "home" again.
Will leave "D" now for 2-3 days to see if everything is leakproof. Besides the change of the fuelline from front to back decided also to change the twin gazpump.

212- Sounds like fun except for the fuel leak. After her beauty sleep, she just wanted some attention.

I picked up my car too on Thursday, with a re-freshed air con unit and system. It seemed to work well, when moving with the hood up, not great when stationary, but then most of the time I will have the hood down not unless I have my wife with me.
As you say, great to hear and smell the car, I am still taking it easy after the rebuild, but did manage to take it to 5500 rpm once, can't wait to give it full rev's.
Its gone cold and showery again here, so lets hope for a much better year weather wise than last year.

Many thanks, it looks good now as i have sent all day cleaning, mostly the wires
I hope to go to quite a few events this year, one being the FOC concours, [ just to display the car]
Please let me know if you are coming over at any time, as it would be nice to meet up, and I would love to see your car to, I have not seen a Giallo fly Daytona in the flesh.

Nice to hear she's back out of hibernation, 212! I'm sure she can't wait for summer to exercise those long legs of hers!
