This is a dash plaque used on Bimbo Racers. These were on Bimbos with opening trucks. I don't know if ones without opening trunks also had them. If there is interest in these I will have more produced. They are 'lasered' on black anodized aluminum.
Contact me at cobra289(at)kc(dot)rr(dot)com if interested.

Prices seem to be in the $5k range. Perhaps a normal restore could get one's money back...assuming the hulk was really low:

The YouTube video is the same car pictured above

Curious, how did you come to the conclusion of a $5K price range for a restored car?

Hi

We just picked up a nice original bare body in good condition over the weekend ,
its just the fiberglass body , no chassis, suspension, motor etc,
its a solid truck model , original faded red,

you can see the outline where the V12 badge was and the nose badge,

I have too many projects so will probably trade it off ,

I do need some parts for a 1958 Fiat 500 and a 1959 Multipla,

its in the Los Angeles area , let me know if you have any rear engine Fiat stuff or 356 Porsche stuff to trade

Thanks

Beaulieu

Probably a good idea as it would be quite a challenge ($$$$) to find and/or build the rest of it.

Just got a Bimbo Racer

Hello, this was really the only active thread I could find on the subject. I recently acquired a bimbo racer has all the decals, motor, wheels, but is in rough shape. Was wondering if anyone is interested in it and if so you can pm me. I have a ton of pictures so you can send me your email as it will not allow me to post pictures for some reason. I would love to see it restored but seems to be a pretty big project hunting down parts. Also would be interested if someone knows of a place that restores them at a reasonable price in the New York area. Thanks in advance.

I exchanged emails with him and he said he had a standing offer of ... I think $800 and if I wanted to beat it it was mine. I passed figuring I was looking at a 6 month $3-5k project that I just didn't need at the moment.

That car was listed on EbayŽ and sold for over $3k. Most of the car was there but still a lot of work (insert $ here) left to restore.

Wow, its been quite awhile but I finally have some pics of my car. At this point I am planning a resto but I may change my mind. I am not sure if these pics will load or not. If they don't, I will try again. I need a steering wheel, a seat, and some tires. I have the hub caps, grill, and headlights in a box that I still haven't located. Let me know what you guys think.

in the post window, click on "manage attachments" a new window will open. search for the photo and select it. hit "upload photos", make sure they show up. check photo restrictions. certain types and/or sizes will not work. Best is an 800x600 jpg.
