360 Insurance

Hi All
Just a quick question regarding insurance, Iím in the process of shipping my 04 360 back to the UK from the Middle East and am starting to look at insurance costs, the first quote Iíve been given from a company who specialize in this type of car is around £1500 GBP, obviously I am not able to give them all the exact details just yet as I have not decided which storage facility I will keep the car at etc etc, but as a ball park figure does this seem a little high? Anyone with a 360 paying this kind of money ? Is this average? What should I expect to pay?
Cheers
Matt

Hi Matt, sorry I can't help you, but I will bump this thread back up to the top for others to see.

Matt, This is definitely within the normal range on costs. Location in the UK can have a huge impact on insurance rates.

Matt, location and where it's stored are factors, as is whether it is used daily or fon a limited mileage basis. There are many specialist policies which limit you to 3000/5000 miles PA and can bring the cost down.
I found AON Private clients to be the best and most helpful. You can find them via the links on the FOC homepage - you also get a discount if you are a FOC member. I was paying around £400 PA for my 328.

Thanks Guys

Will post when the car arrives and I have all the details worked out, I'm looking to store the car in Surrey and take it out for a run every couple of weeks but want to keep the miles down to a minimum.
Cheers

If you are going to leave it stored most of the time, I would strongly suggest putting a battery conditioner on it. Either Airflow or C-Tek work well.

I can recommend the Airflow battery conditioner, I picked one up at last years FOC concours for £50, it plugs straight into the cigar lighter. I didn't even turn the 328 over from the end of Sept 07 to March 08 and it started first time.

Drive it. Join the FOC, post more regularly on here. Other than that, I would imagine ownership is just the same as it is in Bahrain.

Gas is a lot more expensive here and perhaps you shouldn't leave it parked up in a disused council estate in a rough part of town. As long as you are sensible where you leave it you shouldn't have any problems over here.

Weather and the number of events you can attend are probably two big differences. When it is nice, take the 360 out for a good long drive. There are always a lot of local and national events via the
Ferrari Owners Club UK :

Fiorano Ferrari :

and less formal gatherings such as the Scud Run:

which is organized by "Angelis" (PM him for more information)
