F1 Pump Relays - How many are there ?

Hi fellow F430 owner,

I would like to know, how many F1 Pump 50A Relays (part no. 233100) are there on the F430 that can be replaced?

On this table below, it shows "2x quantity" for each section are needed for:

a) FRONT AND MOTOR COMPARTMENTS ELECTRICAL

and

b) REAR PASSENGERS COMPARTMENT CONTROL STA

Does this mean we need 4x Relays ? 2 behind the passenger seat and 2 at the front of the car ? As far as I can remember there is only 1 at the rear passenger seat ?

You may also refer to these diagrams:

Front Compartment
Number 21 located in the diagram

Above diagram shows 5 objects indicated as "21". However, the first one just looks like a fuse and not large enough to be a relay. Then the remaining four indicates "21" when the table above shows only 2 is needed. This is confusing....

Rear Passenger Compartment
Number 17 located in the diagram

Above diagram shows only 1 object indicated as "17". However, the table above shows 2 is needed.

The same relay is used in the engine compartment and for the F1 pump. Even on older Ferraris (early 360s and 575Ms), there is the same 50 amp relay in the engine compartment and an old 30 amp relay for the F1 pump. There are only two identical 50 amp relays in the late 360s, late 575Ms, and F430s.

To answer your question "F1 Pump Relays - How many are there ?", there is only 1 relay for the F1 pump

Yes, only one F-1 pump relay, and scud swiss make a great electronic one for the application. mayhaps the question could be: Would an F430 owner benefit from using more of those electronic relays? Surely they would be orders of magnitude more reliable?

Many thanks [email protected] The Smart eMT F1 Relay ECU is specifically designed to drive the F1 pump motor in a very efficient way. It well more than a simple on/off switch because it has electronics to manage for instance the inrush current of the pump motor when it is started. That's why the pump motor will run in a much more efficient way than with a simple relay. No more voltage drops neither.

But you're very right, we can use our technology also for other relays to make our cars even more reliable. Something that may come up this year
