High Speed Rubbing

First high speed run in my 2004 360. All was well (solid, planted, no odd noises) up to about 125 mph, then heard what maybe sounds like tire rubbing from the front (definitely a rotating pattern)? The sound comes on kind of abruptly then disappears when back below 110 mph. Repeated it a second time. The car may have been lowered and has 19" Forgiattos? Has anyone had a similar experience? Do you think this could be due to the added down force at speed? I Can't imagine the noise could be anything other than some interference with the rotating tire. Could it?

I would like to know the stock and Challenge 360 measurements from ground to the high point of the fender arch. Would really like to know those measurements.

Thank You,
Jeff

Hi Jeff, do you have any marks on your tires or on the mud guards?

Stef,

I am going to pull the wheels this weekend an take a good look inside the wheel wells. It looks there is a fair amount of clearance between the shoulder of the tire and the inside edge of the fender (approx. 1" or more), yet there are indeed scuff marks on the outside shoulder of the tire. No rubbing at slower speed and no rubbing while turning. I was wondering if anyone ever observed that the down force produced at speed could compress the springs by as much as about an inch (+/-).

I'll post more later. Thanks for the reply.

Jeff,
You could run you had through the wheel wells and see if something is loose. Which side of the car did the sound come from? I'd start there.

What's the width of the 19's. I'm running 19x9s up front with stradale height and it rubs at speed.
