It is with mixed emotions that I just listed my F430. The car is pristine and has had everything done to it within the last 600 miles, including new Michelin Pilot SS just about 100 plus miles ago. My daily driver is a Bentley Continental GT Speed and I need an SUV...cannot have them all. There are more pictures in my garage here on FL. The ad is in the FS section on 430's.

best to e mail,

Ha, I wish is was as simple. I have mixed emotions. Selling factors include WIFE, space, health issues related to entering the car while in the garage, no where to really drive it, need for a car to carry stuff, (other is a Bentley Continental GT Speed). It comes down to keeping the Ferrari or the Bentley, with the closest dealer 150 miles away in Orlando.

Many would argue none of the reasons valid.
Thanks for the GL WISHES

I've recently been noticing those jeeps with the lift off doors. They look fun.

Thanks Terry, and thanks for your advice on the car. I took a couple short rides with those Michelin Pilot SS and you really feel the difference. We will see where this goes.

A Jeep is a little to rough for me. Yesterday I bought a new Turbo Cayenne Porsche, 21" wheels, everything Black, Wheels, pipes, rack, name removed and turbo blacked and centered. Two tone cognac interior. shipping from NY. Buying a car in Jacksonville is very distasteful.

My closest dealer is 200 miles away. They come and pick up my car when they are in the area for annual service. Let the wife drive the Cayenne, get rid of the Bentley.

For once Mark's advice makes sense, keep the F430....every boy needs a toy!

Hi Pete,

Problem is that Phil is in our 'crook knee club', which we only know too well.

You flogged your 16M due to it, I'm still trying to hang on to mine.

Phil 'doubles' us in the 'crook knee department' if you get my drift.

But Phil, even without the F430 you've gotta stay in touch mate!

Sorry to hear Phils in the double crook knee club, that's not good news at all.

At least I'm managing to hang on in with Ferrari, when sense is telling me Id be better in a Range Rover or similar ease of entry/exit toy!

I like not being sensible when it means I can still play

Good luck Phil

I love the car, my wife has never sat it it. We will see. Right now it seems to be the thing to do. We are out of space and I have a great deal of in and out problems. I would go crazy dinging or scratching it. Thanks for your wishes on the sale.

I know the problem well. I had a knee injury that saw me out of action & movement for months. A few years on and Im not sorted yet, despite more surgery. However, I regret getting rid of my beloved 16M & albeit Id still struggle in & out I wish Id kept her as she was my best Ferrari period & a one of a colour 16M too!

Think long & hard, this Ferrari love affair runs deep if your a proper gearhead....and you have that special car!!!

Hello Phil,

As a "soon-to-be" Ferrari owner, but current owner of a Bentley GT, the good news is that your choice of driving the Bentley GT Speed is probably as close as you are going to get to driving a non-Ferrari that puts a smile on your face each time you drive it with your double crook knee.

I love everything about my Bentley GT and it's a keeper for me. If you feel the same way about your Bentley GT Speed, then it will cushion the landing after the F430 sale

Good luck with your sale!

Having owned a Bentley GT Mulliner 2006, Speed 2009 & a GTC SuperSports 2011, I wholly agree with your statement Gianni. If it turns out I must leave my Fcar days behind I can think of no better comfortable, capable & fast car Id enjoy getting in & out of than a V12 GT Bentley.....

You'll notice a phenomenal difference driving your Ferrari if it is one of the racier focused V8's such as F430, they hug the road like gokarts, hoping you enjoy your new toy!

Hello Peter,

My Bentley GT is a 2008 Mulliner with every option except the high-end stereo system which I don't miss. How did you like your 2011 Bentley GTC SuperSports? That's a W12 monster of a so-called luxury car.

I have the ultimate street legal go-kart in my Lotus Evora which only weighs 1,383 kg (3,043 lb) that makes it fun throwing it around a corner, but the 276 HP V6 Toyota engine is underpowered, which drove me to recently buying a Ferrari 430 Scuderia (pending a PPI).

There's a new road course in my neighbourhood that I plan to track both the Lotus and Ferrari this summer (On-Track Experience). Hopefully, this track time will also make me a better driver in general and maximize the enjoyment from the Lotus and Ferrari.

Regards,

Best of luck with the sale. Interestingly enough it was a left knee injury that put me in an F430. I could no longer shift my 2013 Corvette 427 convertible so I traded it for the F430 with the F1 trans.

Regards,

My GTC SuperSport was sublime, much more fun than my previous two coupe GTs but that's not surprising as I prefer open topped motoring, even on track. but 'twas a tad old for me, I was only 48. But Id always fancied a GTC so thought Id give the best one a try.

If you love your Evora you're gonna be doing triple backflips after you've driven a 430 Scuderia in anger, it's an amazing drive, for me Scuds with their single clutch gearbox, naturally aspirated V8 & donkey kick in the back are very, very hard to beat as a driver focused tool. The 458 is digital to the Scuds raw analogue temperament. Enjoy the track time, as confidence & ability grow notch the Manetino round until you're driving in CST off, as that's when it's you and the Scuds sublime engine & chassis alone, it's extremely enjoyable in that mode, irrespective of the conditions and is how I drove my 16M every journey. As you're 12 years older than me you'll also remember how good a car felt way before nannying electronics got in the way of a good drive.....so when you're ready get back to basics in the Scud & feel alive!

Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today's a gift.....enjoy every minute!
