Mind blown. New FGT, any owners ponying up for one?

If you have not yet seen pics of this circulating the internet, here you go.

Any owners ponying up for this bad boy? I wish they didn't have to re-use their "Ecoboost" badge on a supercar though

This "should" have come out of Maranello instead of Detroit, however it's a testament to Ford that it did come out of Detroit, and that means it'll probably have at least a 5 year, 50K warranty and run like stink for 75,000 miles without any major maintenance.

Still wish it had a flat plane Coyote V8 in it, though......

'99 550, Rosso Corsa / Nero, S/N:114654, Assy: 31836, Engine: 52084

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Is there a perceivable difference in track width between F and R?

Not sure I'm a fan of that when apexing

Posted the thread below way back when.

http://www.ferrarilife.com/forums/fe...ler-order.html

Looking forward to seeing the order sheet and hoping there is a Heritage paint option.

The GT has everything going for it - from active aero to the door a/c vents.

https://media.ford.com/content/fordm...-supercar.html

I remember the dislikes of the MP4 - let me say the car was insanely fast and I have been told the V6TT will beat the 650s & 458s.

Ford GT was truly built for downforce an aero with mid 600 hp also heard it may be limited to 500 units but the name plate in the video states 0001 so it may be 500 per year for 2 years.

It's the sign of the times. We live in a different world now, so hang onto those holy grail NA motors in your stable, but don't turn a blind eye on what's beyond the horizon.

With so many manufacturers playing this forced induction game, linear power delivery ie zero turbo lag may finally become reality.

Shit. I really cant think of why I would buy this thing. I'm sure it's fast, but I bet it does not sound like the current GT40. Nowhere near like the 60's variant.

And No Stick?

Common! I hope paddle-shifters are an option at least.

Guys, this is a sign of the times. Ford is pushing their EcoBoost on all fronts. It's an amazing engine. I wish it would have been a V8 too but at least Ford built it. I doubt a manual will be an option. Less than 10% of cars sold in the US have a manual trans. In supercars, it's almost extinct. Only the Vantage and R8 have it as an option. In sportscars, it's ultra rare. It's sad but that's just our reality. This will still destroy most supercars on the road and be bulletproof like the FGT.

Absolutely good on Ford for getting out there ( and Honda too with the NSX) The Ford design is inspiring but looks like there is a lot of wasted cabin space as a consequence

Estimated price $200-250K. A lot for a V-6. Wonder how long that engine will last blowing that much air into it?

You totally beat me to it! I'm sure it has plenty of horsepower, but it's the SOUND that kills it.
I totally gave up watching Formula 1 (after being a die hard fan for over a decade) when they went to turbos. I'd honestly rather watch Formula E. At least they have an excuse for the lack of cool sound.

911s have been running 180deg V-6s for the last 50+ years. some of them are quite quick / sporty, even won races

Best wishes, John

I have 2 dealers that gave me a slot - number 1 and number 3 hoping one of them makes it happen.

The dealers were told not to take deposits until next year price 375 - 400k.

1200 units worldwide est. and there will be a race version.

Original GT40 is incredibly small - hence the meaning of the 40.

This one has fixed seats molded into the tub saving weight the pedals and wheel are adjustable. The TT6 can produce 700 hp but assume Ford will take it to mid 6's - it's a proven race engine the question is how crazy Ford wants to go for their customer street cars.

I find it amazing how far along this car was - looks ready to hit the streets. Ford used a triple layer Blue paint hoping that is offered as an option but the goal is a Heritage Edition.

Sounds very similar to the McLaren 12C IMO. 400k for a V6? Would rather have a pre-owned F12.

That blue is for "company display purposes" only and won't be available to prospective buyers. It might make its way down eventually, but definitely not currently in the cards according to the CEO.

I was actually told 2500 units worldwide and base price under $300k USD. The CEO said specifically that they are categorically targeting the Mac 650S & Specialé audience according to the Road & Track Q&A.

I like the 2005/2006 FGT better. Much closer to the GT40 look.

2008 Scuderia - all red, Capristo headers, BMC filters and S-Line exhaust.

2005 Ford GT - red with flat black stripes, twin turbo, bumper delete and a ton of other mods. 820 rwhp low boost on pump gas. Tuned by Torri.

The factory rep stated 370 - 400k

All CF - highest production is the CGT and they made 1200 over two years.

Highly doubt they could - even if Ford wanted to make 2500 units over two years but time will tell.

2005 Ford GT is like a Pantera in comparison to the new GT - no offense but the 05 GT was very basic.

It will also have a race version just like the original GT - forget about the TT6 it will produce plenty of hp and weigh two cylinders less.

A phenomenal machine and the only cars to compare 918 La Ferrari P1 F50 CGT that is some pretty impressive company at more than half the price but for the CGT.

550 RWHP - very nice GT!
