Sounds like your alarm siren rechargeable batteries have gone south. You likely need a new alarm siren.

you are right as i don't hear the beep beep...could the internal battery in the siren be changed? i read in the other forum in one of the threads that it can be done. what do you think?

however the brilliant news is i managed to find a solution and my issue got resolved....indirectly thanks to you.....found this article by yourself and while doing my extensive research on various forums and threads on why this weird phenomenon was happening to my car, to which no one had an answer, i stumbled upon your article attached...reading it and i realised, there was a similarity as described in page 7 #13 ie the LED was continuously flashing and i realised, while i was trying to resolve another door lock related issue (which i have since resolved as well) i might have performed procedure #2 accidentally ie having hit the button on the fob in succession and triggered some ECU reprogramming feature accidentally ..... not even sure if it is actually what happened but what i then did was hold the button on the fob for 10 seconds or so and it kinda "resetted" the alarm system....flash lights stopped flashing continously, immobilizer works, alarm works, door locks work (this last bit was related to a faulty power lock/unlock button)
