Auto Enginuity diagnostics tool for Ferrari

I have been talking to Bill & Jay at AE and they have offered me an option for diagnostics link is below.
Anybody have this already? If so can I have some feedback on how user friendly it is and after sales support from AE, I’m only looking for 360 and 458 for self-use.

Ferrari and Maserati (EI18)


I would like a bit more info on this comment at the bottom of the link ?


*Does not support service Resets with this software release. Known issue retrieving trouble codes from TCM on 360.

I was quoted $3800 for the complete package of Ferrari diagnostics and updates. I think what they mean is the system does not support reflashes of ECUs. They currently actually have better diagnostics for the later Ferraris than the earlier ones.

I am seriously considering that or Texa. Have made offers to AE that did not interest them (money down and pay over a year). Broke retiree.

No, its not limited to the 458 but covers quite many models including the 430 and 360

What I was trying to say is are you limited to what you can do on a 458 with the Texa? I know it can be used on many other models Stef :-)

Sorry, misunderstood your question I haven't tested it yet on a 458 but the coverage seem to be good.

No, they are slightly different. For example, the AE tool will activate the valves in the inlet manifold of a 360 whereas the Texa does not.

AE is USA only isn't it? (I've not seen it offered for sale in the UK). Texa is an Italian company.

So you're happy with the product then, Is it user friendly? I'm a user of a few diagnostic and mapping programs that I use for my bike turbo kits. I'm not novice by a long shot.


Learning the tricks of a program can take time, some programs are easy some are hard to pick up.


The main thing for me is that it works and at US$3800 if it works on my 360 and 458 Iím happy with that. I hate not having control of the ECUís diagnostics and reset capability itís a must have in my world.
ECU mapping will happen later for sure.

Does it have the same functionality as SD3 while 3800 usd seems
like a good price.
Can it read the remaining clutch life on a F430 ?

I asked a few questions relating to 360 and 458, the reply I got was a bit odd with service advice? Basically saying if you are not Ferrari trained donít touch it!

There is no clutch settings required on the 458. There are three F1 gearboxes for the 360 / 430, do have clutch related setting. The first generation F1 does NOT require a scan tool to do although a tool can be used.

The specific coverage matrix is listed here: Ferrari and Maserati (EI18)

If you have not performed these functions prior (CIS and PIS)Ödo NOT do them. Just like the service resets on the new cars require specific Ferrari training or knowledge to prevent error.

My understanding is there is a for profit clearing house that all the manufacturers use to sell the PID access to the tool companies. Not much difference in most of the ODBII devices on a physical basis but the high cost is paying the royalties to the manufacturers for each set of PID's the scanner manufacturer wants to include.

I approve the advice you got which applies to any advanced diagnostic tool. If you don't know the exact impact of a software action or setting change you can take with an easy click on a button , you can seriously damage your car. Which such tools, there's no room for trials as it has a direct impact on the engine or F1 system.

The 458 Gertag gearbox integrates the double clutch system which is totally different to the F1 robotized manual gearbox. No PIS settings indeed for the 458.
