It is the chassis number - C = 12 so that means your car's chassis number is 121993. Cars up to about the early 2000s had this engraved on all the window glass. It is a five digit chassis number (or A, B or C as the first character if it is a 6 digit chassis number). The last three characters are some form of check digit (window punching in Ferrari terminology) but I don't know how they are derived exactly. (121993 is a red 360 Modena F1 with black interior according to my records). Jonathan
my old 412 had its chassis (VIN) number 74099 etched in the lower left-hand corner (from driver's seat) of the windshield.
