Check Engine Light Code P0015 & P0340

Yesterday, started the car. I got a CEL. Put on my OBD2 reader and reads back two DTC'S. .... P0015 and P0340 ...

P0015 ... Over retarded cam shaft position
P0340. ... Sensor A - Bank 1 Circuit Malfunction.

I cleared the codes.

Today, another CEL. ... This time only the P0340

I have cleared the codes again.

Car runs fine. No issues. Timing belts changed three months ago.

Is this something others have seen? When the car cools down, was going to remove the sensor and inspect it and clean it.

Any advice is appreciated.

Take a look at my threads about cam position sensors, sound similar.

Just got back from the techs that service my car. They put on the SD2 and found that the right bank cam is retarded more than left bank. The left bank set at 655 and the right bank at 669. When I had the belts replaced about 4 months ago. Maybe a just an adjustment . Maybe something else.

Anyway, the guys cannot get to the car for couple of weeks, so have to wait and see. They said they will check cam timing, bearings, tensioner / variator, etc. Not same guys that changed the timing belts ... but, I am not happy with the shop that did that work, so not going back to those guys.

The SD-2 reads only the exhaust cam position. An ideal number would be 656-657. The right bank is considerably out of tolerance. Back to square one, I'm afraid to say....
