Ferrari Shields

Hi

My car has the Ferrari stickers on the side

I want to fit the metal shields in lieu

Can you do this or does it need to have the indent on the fender?

The OEM shields work best when the fender has been creased or formed to receive the OEM shields. Adding the OEM shields without the crease will leave you with shields siting atop the fender. There are a few shops that have the press required to create such a crease but I would believe this would disturb the paint to the point a respray would be required.

I believe the shop closest to me in SoCal with this press is Premier Carson.

Welcome to the forum Fabo.
You can get the fenders recessed, but it is very expensive. When I bought my Spider three years ago, the company in LA charged about $8000 to recess the fenders, respray, the paint, and install the shields.
There are after-market shields available that look similar to the recessed OEM ones. From a few feet, you can't tell the difference. Check eBay, there are frequently sets for sale. But beware, quality varies quite a bit.

If it's a choice between stickers and aftermarket, I'd definitely go aftermarket.
If it's stickers or nothing, I'd take nothing.

I had the resin stickers on my 360 and swapped them for the Yoshi metal ones. Still. It not as good as the factory recessed shields but 1,000 times better than the stickers. Well worth the money.

Couldn't agree more, ditch the stickers. I'm not sure if the Yoshi shields are still available but believe there is a number of options in the metal ones out there.

Cheers,
Michael
