Journey through Europe

Hey guys,

this summer I want to do something pretty crazy, some people might say, but it sounds normal to me anyway, basically I want to take the F430 from London to north Italy, overall about 850 miles one way, then probably around 2000 miles round trip overall including few bits here and there in Italy.

Now I want to know from the experts if that's a sensible thing to do with this kind of car, a couple of addendum to my plan to consider:

- I want to take my 3 and a half year old with me, she's very tall and sits comfortably in the front seat with a booster.
- It will take around 2-3 days each way, I don't want to stress her (my kid) too much.

Now what do you think of it? Any particular technical or practical reason why I should _not_ doing it?

Cheers, and happy heat wave for the UK users!

I've just done 2,500miles in my Scuderia via these guys : -

My car made it with no problems, you should be fine, enjoy the car and drive it!

Go for it.

no reason in the world not to do it. a 3,000 mile round trip is no problem for a well serviced F430.

I've done similar in the 360 and 308 many times as have many others here.

It may be no problem for your car, but if you think the engine screams, wait until you hear your kid trapped in that car for 8 hours.

Ehehe that's a bit of a concern ehehhe
So far she's been very good and I guess I'll have to stop very often for fuel so I'll use those stops to give her a rest!

If your daughter loves the car! then why not.
Make sure you have the correct booster seat for switzerland they are very anal there for such things.
If you find yourself in the south of france drop me a line and we can hook up for a drink.
best of luck
Paul

Thanks guys,

Hasby I have a friend in cannes but not sure I'll go that far, I'm planning to enter Italy through the mont Blanc, still south of France but not sure if it's near where you are! I'd love to meet other people from this forum! I'm leaving tomorrow morning and I'm planning to stay over somewhere in the middle of France, depends how tired the girl (and me) are!

@Stout, I'm setting up a gopro camera somewhere inside the car, I'm planning a huge time lapse London -> Milan, I'm thinking of taking a picture every 30 secs, or maybe even 10 seconds, then making a time lapse video out of it. I think I'm settled for 30 secs for now! Maybe 10 secs on the way back if it's successful!
Going to post the video on youtube later on!
